The darwin awards are well known to most people. Charles Darwin wrote the orgin of species and thus developed the term natural selection. Natural selection occurs when an organism is unfit (or less fit than other organisms that are competing for the same resource). So what happens are that the weak, or stupid, or dangerous organisms in a society are the frst ones to be killed and thus the ones that are left to propagate are the fitter, smarter, and safer individuals.
The modern hospital, ER, and trauma surgeons attempt to reverse the effect of natural selection by saving these individuals. At any rate here are some stories of those people that we saved that should have been gone.
Heres the motto: Named in honor of Charles Darwin, the father of evolution, the Darwin Awards commemorate those who improve our gene pool by removing themselves from it.
